Parrish to Hold ‘Welcome Day’

Adults and children of all ages have been invited to the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill for this year’s Welcome Day, set for Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and featuring tours and activities that showcase “everything the Parrish offers year-round,” according to an announcement.

Docents will lead tours at 1:30 and 2:30, and audio museum guides are available for those who need them. There will be a self-guided scavenger hunt through the art installation “In the Light of the Garden,” which introduces the work of Joaquin Sorolla and Esteban Vicente, who are “preeminent Spanish artists in the context of the light and color emanating from their gardens,” the museum says.

The Imagination Play Project will host a pop-up art workshop. In addition, materials will be available for families to create watercolor-pencil landscapes, origami, and nature rubbings.

Admission to the Parrish Art Museum is free all day. Visitors are no longer required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination for entry, but the museum encourages mask wearing while indoors. Additional information can be had by emailing [email protected].
