Films at Sunset

HamptonsFilm has announced its schedule of free outdoor screenings for 2025. Set for Wednesdays at sunset, the series will begin Wednesday with “Top Gun: Maverick” at Herrick Park in East Hampton Village.

The series will continue with “Jaws,” in celebration of the 50th anniversary of its release, with a screening at Main Beach on July 23; “Elf,” Herrick Park, July 30; “School of Rock,” Herrick Park, Aug. 6; “Toy Story,” celebrating its 30th anniversary, Herrick Park, Aug. 13, and “Barbie,” Main Beach, Aug. 20.

Seating is first come first served. Guests can take chairs, blankets, and picnics, but no alcoholic beverages.

HamptonsFilm’s SummerDocs series will kick off on July 17 at Guild Hall with “My Mom Jayne,” a film by Mariska Hargitay about her mother, the actress Jayne Mansfield. The event sold out several weeks ago.

Jazz Duo

The Julie Bluestone Jazz Duo will perform a concert at the Montauk Library on Wednesday at 6 p.m., with music ranging from the American Songbook to bossa nova to the duo’s original compositions.

Ms. Bluestone, who plays the flute, saxophone, and clarinet, is known in the Hamptons and Manhattan for her performances at clubs, cabarets, weddings, and other venues.

A keyboardist and percussionist, Max Vanderbeek, who has over 30 years’ experience offering private music lessons in the Baltimore area, performs regularly on the East End, where he spends summers with his family.

Comedy Is Back

The Sticks and Stones Comedy Club will return to the Southampton Cultural Center with two programs on Sunday evening.

Iris Bahr will take the stage at 6 with “Stories From the Brink! My Festive Near-Death Adventures.” A winner of the Lucille Lortel Award and a Drama Desk, UK Stage, and Helen Hayes Award nominee, Ms. Bahr “has more voices than a symphony has strings,” according to Variety.

Jordan Rock calls himself “the most affordable Rock,” which makes sense because Chris Rock is his brother. Set to perform at 8, Mr. Rock has appeared in the Netflix films “The After Party” and “Big Time Adolescence” as well in Judd Apatow’s Netflix series “Love.”

Tickets for each show are $35 for general admission, $50 for reserved seats, and $70 for top tier seating, plus fees.

Jazz Night

Jazz Night at the Sag Harbor Masonic Club will continue with the Alex Sipiagin Quartet on Friday at 7 p.m. A trumpet player, Mr. Sipiagin was called “an amazing musician — truly a multifaceted composer, arranger, producer, a wonderful lead trumpet player, and most of all, a completely original trumpet and flugelhorn soloist” by Randy Brecker, a seven-time Grammy Award-winning trumpet player.

Tickets are $20; doors open at 6:30.

Ma’s House Benefit

Ma’s House & BIPOC Art Studio will hold its 2025 “Friendraiser” on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. on the lawn at Canoe Place Inn in Hamptons Bays.

The evening will celebrate three Shinnecock matriarchs: Princess Silva Arrow (Loretta “Ma” Silva); Princess Nowedonah (Lois Hunter), and Princess Chee Chee (Elizabeth Thunderbird Haile). Their legacies of cultural preservation, advocacy for women’s rights, and tireless activism for the Shinnecock Nation “continue to guide the mission of Ma’s House.”

Hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Tickets start at $50.
