Saturday will be a big day for John Cameron Mitchell, the Tony Award winner who wrote the book for the Off Broadway hit show “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and was its original lead as well.

The day will start at 11 in the morning when, as Grand Marshal of the 2025 Hamptons Pride Parade, he will not only lead the procession but will perform songs from “Hedwig” in Herrick Park, free, afterward.

That night at 8, Mr. Mitchell will the take the stage at Guild Hall for an evening of songs and stories from his career, which spans Broadway, Off Broadway, television, and motion pictures.

“Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” a rock musical about a genderqueer East German rock musician, won an Obie Award when it premiered Off Broadway in 1998. Three years later, Mr. Mitchell directed and starred in the feature film version, which won him the best director award at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and a nomination for a Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy.

The director, writer, and co-producer of “Shortbus,” a 2006 erotic comedy-drama film, he also directed the 2010 film “Rabbit Hole,” which earned Nicole Kidman an Oscar nomination.

A hint of what the Guild Hall audience can expect comes from Andrew Child’s review of Mr. Mitchell’s performance in March at the Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles. “John Cameron Mitchell’s cabaret show exhibited his demented, impish persona through a series of high-energy numbers . . . He sampled a range of varied selections, including songs by David Bowie and some new pieces written by lesser-known composers.”

Guild Hall has suggested that audience members dress up and embrace the evening in glitter, big hair, and “bold expression.” Tickets range from $60 to $110, $54 to $99 for members, with a limited number of balcony seats available for $25.

Speaking of Tony Awards, Guild Hall will host a simulcast of this year’s awards, live from Radio City Music Hall, on Sunday evening from 8 to 11. The evening will be hosted by Amy Kirwin, the venue’s public engagement and impact officer, who previously worked for the Tony Awards and promises to share insider stories.

Cocktails and light bites will be available for purchase from Louise and Howie’s Coffee Bar in the lobby, and games with prizes will be on offer during commercial breaks. The screening is free.
