Classical Piano

The Montauk Library will host a concert by Anne Cavolo Tedesco, a classical pianist, on Sunday at 3 p.m.

When Ms. Tedesco, an adjunct professor of music at St. John’s University, made her professional debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, The New York Times described her performance as an “intelligent articulation in Bach’s Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, and a languid phrasing in Ravel’s ‘Miroirs.’”

Her program includes music by Bach, Mozart, Albéniz, Schumann, Chopin, and Moszkowski.

Big Band in Springs

The music series at the Arts Center at Duck Creek in Springs will feature the Inés Velasco Large Ensemble next Thursday at 6 p.m.

Ms. Velasco is a composer, arranger, and drummer born in Mexico and based in Brooklyn. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a dual degree in jazz composition and performance, her recent work includes compositions for the National Jazz Orchestra of Mexico and string arrangements for the New York Philharmonic’s Bandwagon series with the vocalist Juana Luna.

Ms. Velasco will bring a 17-piece band to Duck Creek, consisting of a rhythm section, bass, drums, keyboard, guitar, and four trumpets, four trombones, and five saxophones.

The rain date is Aug. 2.

Flower Arrangements

The Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack will host a flower arranging demonstration and book signing with Emily Thompson and Frances Palmer on Sunday at noon. Working with flowers and foraged materials, the women will create arrangements from simple to extravagant.

Ms. Thompson, the author of “Emily Thompson Flowers,” has created installations at the White House, the Museum of Modern Art, and Lincoln Center, inspired by the picturesque 18th-century ideas of William Gilpin.

The author of “Life With Flowers: Inspiration and Lessons From the Garden,” Ms. Palmer is a ceramicist whose functional works of art, including vases, dishware, and photographs, have been featured in Vogue, Elle Decor, and The New York Times Style Magazine.

Tickets are $200, $180 for members.

Ancient Music

In celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton will present a concert featuring Bobby Peterson, its director of music and organist, and Michael Celentano, a tenor, on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The music selections include Marian antiphons, a set of hymns from the Middle Ages dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose use in the liturgy became more prominent in the 13th century, and Gregorian Chant, music with a melody of one note at a time. The latter, ceremonial in purpose, also began in the Middle Ages.

Atlas at the Temple

Nancy Atlas and her band will rock Sag Harbor’s Masonic Temple on Saturday at 8 p.m. Known for her raw live performances and songwriting, she will be joined by Brett King on bass, Johnny Blood on electric guitar, Denny McDermott on drums, Joe Delia on keys, and Greg McMullen on pedal steel and electric guitar.

The temple calls it a “rare small-room performance,” with seating on a first-come-first-served basis. Tickets are $40 and are expected to sell quickly. Doors will open at 7.

Pianofest Is Back

Pianofest in the Hamptons, a summer festival that offers concentrated study to a small group of pianists selected by audition, has returned for its 37th season.

Directed by Paul Schenly, Pianofest, which provides its students with full scholarships and room and board, stresses an ethic of support rather than competition. In addition to emphasizing the solo repertoire, students accompany each one another in concertos and explore the duo piano literature.

All Southampton concerts are held at the Southampton Cultural Center, on Mondays at 5 p.m. through July 28. Concerts will also take place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church here on Wednesday; on July 16, and on July 23, all at 5:30. The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center will host a recital tonight at 7. Post-concert receptions follow all performances.

Tickets to individual programs are $40, except for the Westhampton Beach concert, which is $26. A subscription is available for $180.

Fund-Raiser at LTV

The third annual Celebrating Black Culture on the East End, a fund-raiser for the Global Black Women’s Chamber of Commerce, will take place next Thursday at 7 p.m. at LTV Studios in Wainscott. Ambassador Sujay, Crystal Brown, and Maria DeLongoria will host and be part of the filming of Ms. Sujay’s LTV series “Live With Sujay.”

Featuring dancing and light refreshments, the event will include interviews with guests from business, fashion, film, and education, as well as a performance by Nicky Sunshine, a comedian who has performed at the Apollo Theater, the Gotham Comedy Club, and Carolines on Broadway, and dancing to the beats of D.J. Master.

Ms. Sujay, a.k.a. Suzan Johnson Cook, is a writer, pastor, activist, and theologian, who served as a policy adviser to President Clinton and was the first female chaplain of the New York City Police Department.

Tickets are $60 in advance, $65 at the door, and $75 for reserved seating, which includes two drinks.

Motown Magic

Whimsy Motown Magic, the summer benefit for the Southampton Arts Center, will take place on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The event features live music by That Motown Band, and guests have been encouraged to come dressed in “their grooviest retro attire.”

Tickets start at $300, with proceeds directly supporting the arts center’s year-round programming.

‘Bonackers’ Redux

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Springs Library and Historical Society, a screening of “The Bonackers,” a feature-length documentary by Joanne Friedland Roberts, will take place on Sunday at 6 p.m. on a big screen in the Springs Presbyterian Church. Many longtime locals will be in attendance, according to Ms. Roberts.
