Art Groove in Springs

Tue, 04/15/2025 - 12:06
Hans Van de Bovenkamp's sculpture "Elliptic Wave" will be on view during the Art Groove at Ashawagh Hall in Springs.

The Art Groove will return to Ashawagh Hall in Springs this weekend with not one but two art exhibitions as well as music, dancing, and a book signing at 1 p.m. on Sunday by Hans Van de Bovenkamp, followed at 2 by a short documentary about the noted sculptor.

Open from noon to 10 on Saturday and 11 to 4 on Sunday, the featured art show will include work by 18 East End artists. A sale of small works by 28 artists to benefit the Ellen Hermanson Foundation, Maureen's Haven, and the Annie Appleseed Project will also be on view.

A reception with live music by the King Bees, an R&B band, and a dance party with D.J. G-Funk, will happen from 6 to 10 on Saturday.

The Art Groove has been organized by Geralyne Lewandowski.

Say Cheese (or Caviar), Day or Night

Self Provisions, a storefront attached to Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese in Sag Harbor, is “always open,” as is proclaimed by an illuminated sign on the wall at the entrance. Two large, brightly lit vending machines dominate the space, with offerings ranging from sea salt crackers and slabs of French butter to jars of caviar and curated gift boxes — and, of course, cheese.
