LongHouse Lit Up
Tickets are now on sale for "LongHouse Illuminated: A Magical Winter Experience," which will happen at the East Hampton venue on Friday and Saturday evenings starting Nov. 28 and continuing through Jan. 3.
The landscape is transformed by glowing sculptures and light-lined garden paths and animated by ZIMA! -- the annual theatrical adventure by the Neo-Political Cowgirls dance theater collective's costumed and illuminated performers. The paths lead to a holiday market in the Pavilion, where the creations of local artisans and artists have been gathered by Heidi Humes of the local retailer Sunshine and where treats and holiday cheer will be on offer.
There are three hourlong sessions each Friday and Saturday -- 4:30 to 5:30, 5:30 to 6:30, and 6:30 to 7:30. Tickets are $45, $35 for members, and $15 for students with ID.

A harmonica virtuoso, Mr. He has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and performed at Carnegie Hall, Citi Field, and the U.N.'s General Assembly Hall. He will be accompanied by Jillian Johnson and Martin Noh on violin, Pamela Hamilton on viola, and Paul Lee on cello.

The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center will close its annual Black Film Festival on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with a literary program, an art exhibition by Black female artists, and music by the Ludmilla Brazil Trio, a bossa nova group based on the East End.
Alexis Pauline Gumbs, a writer, poet, and activist whose biography of the late Audre Lorde, "Survival Is a Promise," was named a must-read book of 2024 by Time magazine, will read from her poetry. The art exhibition will include work by Cydney (Artcy) Wilson, Faith Evans, Medjine Dupiton, Sheniqua Young, and Darlene Deloris.
Food will be provided by L&W Market. A $20 donation has been suggested, but the center has said that any amount will be appreciated.

Open Call in Quogue
The Hampton Theatre Company will hold auditions for the role of Agnes in the musical "I Do! I Do!" on Monday and Tuesday between 7 and 9 p.m. by appointment only.
The musical, with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, follows Michael and Agnes from their wedding day through 50 years of marriage, from 1898 to 1948. The role of Agnes calls for a female mezzo-soprano age 25 to 40 who evolves from a giddy young bride into a mature woman, enduring the passage of time with humor and grace.
Music will be provided upon booking appointments, sides will be available at the audition, and callbacks will take place Nov. 12. Appointments can be scheduled by emailing [email protected] or phoning 631-653-8955.
On Little Island
"Beyond Flowers: Foliage and Other Plants for Color, Texture, and Shape in the Garden All Year Long" will be the topic of the next free round-table discussion of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons on Saturday morning at 10 at the Bridgehampton Community House.
Signe Nielsen, the landscape designer of Little Island, the artificial island and public park within Hudson River Park that opened in 2021, will be at the community house on Sunday at 2 p.m. She will talk about the design process, from the park's topography to its diverse selection of plantings.
Tickets are $10, free for horticultural alliance members.
