“All Ghosts on Deck,” a new production from the East End Special Players, will be performed at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor on Saturday afternoon at 4. The Halloween-season comedy transports the actors to the East End Cruise Lines, where a colorful cast of characters navigates a spectral whodunit filled with laughter, music, and an uplifting conclusion.
Created entirely from the imaginations of the Players over the past two years, “All Ghosts on Deck” continues the troupe’s legacy of bringing originality and humor to the stage. Under the direction of Jacqui Leader, the company features actors with learning disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, and other cognitive or physical challenges.
Their previous works, including “Turtles on the Tarmac,” “Whimsy World,” and “Trouble in Jamaica,” all of which highlight individuality and shared humanity, have been lauded for their creativity, inclusiveness, and positive spirit.
After Saturday’s performance, the audience is invited to stay for a Paddles Up auction supporting the ongoing work of the East End Special Players. Tickets are $30 to $80, with group rates available on request.
The Ha Ha Hamptons Comedy Tour will return to Bay Street on Saturday at 8 p.m. with sets by six stand-up veterans, including a surprise guest.
The host, creator, and producer of the show is Paul Anthony, who has also created and produced the Berkshire Comedy Festival, Moms’ Night Out Long Island, and the 50+ Comedy Tour, and has shared the stage with Louie Anderson, Robert Klein, Chris Distefano, and Gary Gulman, among others.
The surprise guest, a comedian for more than 25 years, is among the most sought-after female comics in the country. After raising her children, she took to the road making fun of family relationships and everything else along the way.
She and Mr. Anthony will be joined by Rob Falcone, Kyle Mara, Moody McCarthy, and Eric Tartaglione. Tickets are $42 to $54.
Bay Street’s weekend will conclude on Sunday with a screening of “Gods and Monsters” (1998) at 4 p.m. Part of the Pride Film Series, the film stars Ian McKellen in an Oscar-nominated performance as James Whale, a once-powerful Hollywood director (“Frankenstein”) who has long retired and is in poor health.
Lynn Redgrave plays Hanna, his housekeeper, who disapproves of his catty candor and a parade of young gay lovers. But when Whale takes an interest in a new gardener, played by the Academy Award-winner Brendan Fraser, it appears to be for something more than his usual casual conquest.
Tickets are $10. Those under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
