The East Hampton Antiques and Design Show, an annual benefit for the East Hampton Historical Society, will be held on Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of Mulford Farm. A preview cocktail party will take place there on Friday evening from 6 to 8.

Liz Lange, a fashion designer, writer, entrepreneur, and podcast host, is the honorary chairwoman of the cocktail party, which will offer guests the first opportunity to select from the array of antiques, jewelry, textiles, collectibles, furniture, and accessories.

“It’s a great evening because old and new East Hampton are all together," said Ms. Lange. "So come and shop, come see your friends, come meet some designer you’ve always wanted to meet. It's a highlight of the summer, and an event I never miss."

Housed in white tents on the property, this year's show will feature offerings from over 50 antiques and art dealers. The focus is on vintage decorative items for the home and garden, including classic rattan and bamboo furniture, lighting, textiles, architectural elements, American and European country decorated furniture, Art Deco, Art Moderne, garden ornaments, wrought-iron accessories, industrial items, paintings, trade signs, period jewelry, weathervanes, and mirrors.

Advance tickets to the show, which will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 to 5, are $15. Food will be available from an on-site cafe.

Tickets for the preview party start at $250 and include return visits over the weekend. Proceeds will benefit the historical society.

Tickets are available from the society's website; by email to [email protected], or by calling 631-324-6850 ext. 1.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
