Solomon Eichner will perform a program of classical piano music at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton.

Year-Round Flowers
Karl Gercens, conservatory manager at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa., will be at the Bridgehampton Community House on Sunday at 2 p.m., courtesy of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons.

Mr. Gercens will talk about the planning and implementation of horticultural glasshouse displays, including design aspects that can be informative for home gardeners with plants that thrive in temperate growing zones. Favoring a palette of colorful-foliage trees, shrubs, and perennials, he is known for his horticultural classes offered at Longwood Gardens, as well as his lectures, given nationwide.

Tickets are $10, free for members.

Classical Piano
Solomon Eichner, and award-winning pianist, will perform a recital of music by Brahms, Gershwin, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton on Sunday at 3 p.m.

In addition to Pianofest in the Hamptons, Mr. Eichner has performed in the Atlantic Music Festival in Waterville, Me., the Montecito International Music Festival in California, Music Fest Perugia in Italy, and the American Fine Arts Festival in New York City.

His prizes include the Liszt-Garrison Festival and International Piano Competition in Baltimore and the International Young Artists Competition in Washington, D.C.

Oceanic Video
A continuous screening of Sirad Balducci's "Oceans, A Video Montage" will be on view in the teen room on the main floor of the Montauk Library through June 30.

Ms. Balducci is a filmmaker and videographer whose work focuses on social and environmental issues. Her award-winning short film, "Generation Lockdown" (2020), illuminates the impact of gun violence on children.

Her feature film projects include "Dream Roll," a narrative film in development that was inspired by her documentation of the Rainbow Roll for the End of AIDS, a cross-country skating event aimed at promoting AIDS education and prevention.

She is the daughter of Gioacchino and Carolyn Balducci, the library's program director.

Master Classes
The Perlman Music Program is holding artist-faculty master classes in the performance tent at its Shelter Island campus on Thursday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7 p.m. The public has been invited to watch faculty members lead the program's young artists in the creation of chamber performances.

Admission is free; reservations are not required.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
