A benefit premiere performance of "Turtles on the Tarmac," a new production from the East End Special Players, will happen Saturday at 4 p.m. at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. In development for two years, the eccentric romp features an airport, a storm, canceled flights, stolen goods, slapstick, spies, music, intrigue, an impromptu talent show -- and turtles.

The Players, who have been performing for more than 30 years, include people with learning disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, and other cognitive or physical challenges.

The event will begin at 3 with a reception and silent auction; a live auction led by Roman Roth, the Wolffer Estate winemaker and partner, will follow the performance. Tickets start at $25, $10 for students, children, and individuals living in group homes. Preferred seating costs $75.
