Saturday will be a banner day at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, starting at 12:55 p.m. with The Met: Live in HD and continuing that evening at 8 with Judy Carmichael and her high-energy interpretations of jazz and Broadway standards.

"Florencia en el Amazonas" is a Met premiere of Daniel Catan's 1996 opera, the story of a Brazilian opera diva, sung by Gabriella Reyes, who returns to her homeland to perform at the opera house in Manaus and search for her lost lover. Yannick Nezet-Seguin is at the podium for the new production by Mary Zimmerman. Tickets are $35.

A Grammy-nominated pianist and singer, Ms. Carmichael, who lives in Sag Harbor when not touring the globe, is one of the world's leading interpreters of stride and swing piano. Teamed with her trio, she will deliver an evening of swing music from 1930s and '40s as well as her own compositions. Citing Peggy Lee and Annie Ross, Jazz Times has said, "Judy winningly blends two of the all-time finest, most intuitive jazz singers." Tickets start at $39.95.
