Audition Workshop
Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor has a one-time audition workshop on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. "Book the Job With Improv" will be led by SJ Allocco-St. Germain, a professional casting director, and co-producer of the film "Love . . . Reconsidered," which is featured elsewhere in this section.

With her use of improv techniques, Ms. Allocco-St. Germain will teach participants how to trust their instincts, polish acting and delivery techniques, and use those skills for both an in-room audition and an effective self-tape.

Registration for the workshop is $99 and is available on the theater's website, or by calling its box office at 631-725-9500.

Classical Piano
A recital by Jiao Sun, a Pianofest alumna, will take place at the Southampton Cultural Center on Saturday at 6 p.m. as part of its Rising Stars Piano Series.

Ms. Sun's prizes include a silver medal at the 2021 Washington International Piano Competition, first prize at the Memphis Repertory Orchestra International Concerto Competition, and first prize at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition, among others.

She will perform works by Scarlatti, Haydn, Gershwin, Ch'uqi, Scriabin, Chopin, and Liszt. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and free for students under 21.

Water, Water
"On the Water and In the Field," a news magazine show produced by the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program, will have a free screening at the Southampton Arts Center on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The episode to be shown features stories covering shellfish restoration in Southampton Town waters, Sagg Pond groundwater remediation efforts, the status of the kelp aquaculture industry on Long Island, and updates on the Back to the Bays initiative.

Marine program staff and collaborators featured in the show will be on hand for a reception before the screening.

Art and Wellness
As part of its Healing Arts Program, a series that offers opportunities to explore the intersection of art and wellness, the Watermill Center will host "Gratitune," a workshop with Karen M. Meyer, on Monday morning at 10.

Ms. Meyer, a teacher, healer, and adventurer, will encourage participants to receive the vibrational sounds of tuning forks, crystal bowls, and the gong, alongside mindful movement and meditation. Attendees will learn simple techniques for home practice that can "connect to the heart of gratitude," says the center.

Tickets are $25 and available from a link on the center's website.

Raising the Dead
The Roses Grove Band will bring the jamming rock and blues of the Grateful Dead to the Inner Sanctum of the Sag Harbor Masonic Temple on Saturday at 8 p.m. as part of the Masonic Music Series. Tickets are $20.

The temple also hosts the Jam Session’s weekly concert of live jazz with guest musicians on Tuesday evenings at 7. Tickets are $15.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
