Guild Hall’s Members Exhibition, the oldest nonjuried show on Long Island and one of the few remaining nonjuried museum exhibitions, will celebrate its 82nd birthday on Saturday with a display of work in a variety of mediums by more than 400 artists. Participants in previous years have included Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Alfonso Ossorio, Perle Fine, Bill King, and many other notable East End artists.

This year’s juror, Susan Thompson, an associate curator at the Guggenheim Museum, will award prizes in the categories of photography, representational work, sculpture, abstract, mixed media, work on paper, new artist, the Catherine and Theo Hios landscape award, and as many as eight honorable mentions. The top honors award winner will be given a solo show at Guild Hall.

The exhibition has been organized by Casey Dalene, the museum’s curatorial assistant and registrar, and the installation has been designed by Christina M. Strassfield, the director and chief curator.

A reception for Guild Hall members will be held on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Related public programs will include gallery tours by Ms. Dalene (March 16), Andrea Grover, Guild Hall’s executive director (March 23), and Ms. Strassfield (April 6). An opportunity to meet the winners will take place on March 28. The exhibition will run through April 18.
