Dr. Samantha Harris Weds Dr. William Murphy

Samantha Harris and William Murphy of St. Louis were married on Sept. 16 at the Country Club in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The bride’s brothers, Jonathan Harris and Dashiell Harris, and the groom’s brother, Andrew Murphy, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ellen Johansen and Howard Harris of East Hampton. The groom’s mother, Frances Jensen, and stepfather, Jeff Berry, live in Chestnut Hill; his father, Stephen Murphy, and stepmother, Michelle Murphy, live in Winchester, Mass.

The bride is an internal medicine physician at Washington University in St. Louis. The groom is a dermatology physician at Washington University.

Dr. Harris graduated from East Hampton High School, Tufts University, Harvard University Medical School, and Harvard Business School. Dr. Murphy is a graduate of Harvard College who also went on to Harvard University Medical School and Harvard Business School.

The couple met on a pre-orientation hiking trip before medical school. “They instantly felt a connection, especially when realizing they had similar music tastes on the five-hour bus ride home,” the bride wrote. “They quickly became close friends, and then began dating shortly after.” They “shared their first kiss on Sept. 16, 2016, seven years to the day before their wedding date.”
