In the 5K varsity race, Jasper Samuelson, a sophomore, was third with a personal-record time for the course of 18:13.20. Sean Perez, a senior, was 16th in 19:17.40, and Watts Comly-Bolick, a sophomore, 17th in 19:21.70.

In the girls varsity 5K, East Hampton’s Laura Martinez, a junior, was seventh in 21:19.90, and Danette Gonzalez-Alcala, a sophomore, was 36th in 23:52.50.

Earlier that week, Samuelson set a new school record for the 2.5-mile home cross-country course in a tough meet against Sayville that marked the team’s first loss of the season, but also yielded personal records for the brothers Sean and Andrew Perez (a junior).
