Passenger and Driver Booked

Thu, 06/18/2026 - 11:05

At 4 a.m. on June 3, East Hampton Town police stopped a car on Napeague and wound up charging both a passenger and the driver with drug-related offenses.

The passenger, Jair Ademar Lizama, 30, of Mastic Beach, was hit with the more serious charge, felony drug possession. Police reported finding “multiple individual packets of a white powdery substance” hidden in his pockets and clothing, which they said later tested positive for cocaine.

The driver was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. Police said they found a pink powdery substance on him that tested positive for a derivative of methamphetamine known as ecstasy or molly. Police released him after booking him on the misdemeanor charge.

The Star does not identify persons charged at the misdemeanor level.

Mr. Lizama was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of narcotics and held for the rest of the night. In the morning he appeared in Justice Court before Town Justice David Filer, who released him on his own recognizance. Both men are expected back in court at a future date.

New Victim Comes Forward
