Two automobile accidents on Montauk Highway, one in Wainscott and another in Amagansett, resulted in injuries last week, as did a third in Springs.
The one in Wainscott happened last Thursday night, when two sedans, a Honda and a Toyota, collided in a side swipe near East Gate Road.
Erin Hutchins of Blue Point, 41, the Honda’s driver, was westbound on Montauk Highway, she told East Hampton Town police, when the Toyota, approaching from the opposite direction, crossed the yellow line into her lane and sideswiped her car.
Widny Fegond of Elmont, 29, the Toyota’s driver, told police he remembered only driving east on the highway and then being involved in an accident. He injured his leg in the impact and was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for treatment. Ms. Hutchins was not injured.
Both cars sustained damage along the driver’s sides. The Honda was collected by Rapid Recovery and the Toyota by Hammer Towing.
Two pedestrians, a father and son, were hurt in the second accident, which happened on Saturday evening in Amagansett.
John G. Mooney of East Hampton, 76, was eastbound on Main Street in the hamlet, he told police, when two pedestrians entered the crosswalk at the intersection of Hedges Lane, causing his vehicle, a Subaru sedan, to strike them.
Daniel R. Reifer of New York City, 49, stated that he was in the crosswalk with his family when the Subaru “ran over his feet” and knocked him to the ground. His 12-year-old son stated that the car had run over his right foot, too.
Mr. Reifer was evaluated by E.M.S. and initially refused further medical attention, but eventually assented and was taken to the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department. He refused transportation on his son’s behalf.
Mr. Mooney was not injured, and there was no visible damage to his car.
The Springs accident occurred on Sunday morning during the snowfall. Johanna E. Cabrera Leon of East Hampton, 37, told police that she was driving her Chevrolet S.U.V. south on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road when it slid on snow and struck a telephone pole by the side of the road, near the Gann Road intersection.
The front of the S.U.V. was damaged at the point of impact and it was towed by Caliber Collision. There was no visible damage to the pole. Ms. Cabrera Leon reportedly sustained a bruise to her arm but refused medical attention.
