It wasn't quite like the high-end handbag heist last year at Balenciaga in East Hampton, but police are searching nonetheless for two men who they say stole $1,500 worth of purses from Marshall's in the Bridgehampton Commons last month.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, on Jan. 18 the men entered the store at around 9 p.m., about half an hour before its usual closing time, and took "assorted purses and handbags." Because of the value of the merchandise, it's considered grand larceny, a felony.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest. All calls are kept confidential. Information can be called in anonymously to 1-800-220-TIPS or sent digitally on a mobile app called P3 Tips or the website P3Tips.com.
