One Street, Two Collisions

Thu, 03/10/2022 - 10:32

Patrick Kennedy 60, was southbound on Springs-Fireplace Road in East Hampton on the morning of Feb. 28 when his 2007 Chevy pickup collided with a 2013 Ford pickup driven by 50-year-old Eugenio Morales-Torres. Both men live in East Hampton.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Jackson Street. Mr. Morales-Torres, whose passenger was Jason Galarza, 26, told police he was stopped at the stop sign there, and pulled out into Springs-Fireplace Road without seeing Mr. Kennedy’s oncoming vehicle.

Mr. Kennedy complained of neck pain and nausea and was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Both trucks were towed by Fireplace Auto Collision.

Jackson Street figured in another recent road accident, this time at its other end. (Jackson is a small street that runs between Three Mile Harbor and Springs-Fireplace Roads.) Stephen Sobel, 81, of East Hampton, was turning left at the Three Mile Harbor intersection on Saturday when Eileen Mullen of Ridgewood, N.J., 60, driving a 2009 Mercedes S.U.V., ran into Mr. Sobel’s trailer.

Neither driver was injured.
