A Springs resident for many years, he moved to Hampstead, N.C., in 2005. He is survived by two sons, Anthony King of Hampstead and Eric King of East Hampton, and by two granddaughters and a sister, Sandy Vorpahl of Amagansett. His parents, Virgil King and the former Marion Bennett, died before him.
