A flier placed on cars in the lot at the Springs Park this week raised alarm bells for users of the preserve, commonly called the Springs Dog Park.
Suffolk County’s boys tennis singles champion, Eduardo Menezes of the Ross School, made it to the quarterfinal round of the state tourney over the weekend on the U.S. Open courts in Flushing, Queens.
“It’s the first in a very long time” to visit New York State, “if not the first ever,” said Shai Mitra, an assistant professor at the College of Staten Island, said of the American flamingo that visited Georgica Pond in East Hampton last week. The bird was last seen there Saturday at dusk.
