East Hampton’s 1995 county small schools championship baseball team will be inducted into the high school Hall of Fame Saturday morning along with the sailor Cole Brauer and the runner Ashley West Harvey. Then, after the homecoming parade, a family festival and football game at Herrick Park will follow.
East Hampton’s girls tennis, seeded 14th among the 19 vying in the county’s large schools team tournament, is to play 19th-seeded East Islip at home Thursday afternoon. The Ross School is second-seeded in the county’s small schools tournament. East Hampton’s boys soccer teams still hoping for a playoff spot. And its boys volleyball team has its fingers crossed too.
East Hampton’s 7-6-0 field hockey team remained in the playoff hunt as of earlier this week. Its coaches, Danielle Schuster and her sister, Nicole Ficeto, said they thought their charges could make the postseason “provided we play with intensity.”
A league championship will be up for grabs Thursday as the East Hampton High School girls swimming team takes on Sayville-Bayport, the defending League III champion, at the Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter. Both teams are taking 2-0 league records into the meet, which is to begin at 5:30.
