Following an unusually contentious meeting of the Amagansett Citizens Advisory Committee last month, during which a member of the committee interrupted speakers repeatedly with angry outbursts, the group’s top three officials got together and drew up a code of conduct, which they presented to the committee on July 11.
The East Hampton Town Board will schedule a public hearing for early next month on proposed amendments to the town code to reflect the changed status of the 4,000-foot stretch of Napeague ocean beach commonly known as Truck Beach, in part codifying that beach driving permits only allow driving on publicly owned sands.
