John Owen Habib, who spent summers in Amagansett and had many close friends here, died on April 11 following a catastrophic fall while hiking in Morocco. He was 21.

Suzann Briand of Montauk, an auditor and fisherwoman, died of liver failure on April 14 at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. She was 52 and had been ill with Graves’ disease for a few years.
Cheryl Lee Behringer, who grew up in East Hampton and was an assistant teacher in Southampton for many years, died on March 19 in Charleston, S.C. The cause was an aortic aneurysm. She was 60.
RoseMarie Boyle Raffel, a Wainscott neighborhood mom and former waitress at John Duck’s restaurant, died of lung cancer on April 8 in Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was 84.
