The race season here, from 5Ks to triathlons to and bay and ocean swimming competitions, will begin Saturday with the Robert J. Aaron memorial Olympic-distance triathlon in Montauk, to be followed on Sunday by the Montauk Mile.
The Ladies Village Improvement Society’s annual fair will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year brings the return of two perennial favorites — the carousel and the mystery gift booth — as well as all the usual offerings that fairgoers look forward to, from vintage clothing to toys and plants.
There will be live music all day, face-painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, a “roving magician” to entertain kids, and a food court.
Proceeds help to support the society’s many good works in the community and its annual scholarships.
