Alyssa Bahel, a 2015 East Hampton High School graduate and track star, ran the 2026 Tokyo Marathon on Sunday, finishing in 3:09:34, the 275th woman to finish in a field of nearly 39,000 runners.

Two of Bonac’s top female track and field athletes competed at the Long Island Elite Meet at St. Anthony’s High School.

“Those unexpected rest days turned out to be a blessing in disguise” ahead of the state meet this weekend, Coach Craig Brierley said.

At the 2026 state championships in Albany last weekend, Bronco Campsey, a junior from Pierson High School, clawed back from a loss in the second round to place fifth in the state in the 126-pound weight class.
