Seven Vehicles Strike Deer

Many deer-related accidents kept the East Hampton Town Police Department busy last week. No injuries, accept perhaps to the deer, resulted. Six of the collisions occurred in Montauk.

Reported in chronological order, the accidents began on Oct. 16. Jeanne M. Shelton of Southampton told police that while heading north on Route 114 near Hilltop Lane in East Hampton at around 4:40 p.m., a deer came out in front of her and she did not have enough time to stop before colliding with it.
