Sales of East End houses priced above $1 million were strong in the second quarter of 2020 despite the pandemic and a temporary ban on open houses, according to a new report from Town and Country Real Estate.
The Southampton Arts Center will host a Unity Fest for the first time Sunday, inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. The center’s grounds will be the scene of an array of multiculturally owned and run businesses and organizations, as well as musicians, motivational speakers, food, and art.
The festival will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and that night at 8:40 the documentary "Killer Bees," featuring the Bridgehampton High School boys basketball team, will be screened, dedicated to the late Bobby Hopson, the team’s career scoring leader.
East Hampton Town and Sag Harbor Village Justice Courts are closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week. Some 155 people who visited the courts between July 6 and July 20 have been notified.
Three and a half years after East Hampton Town Police Chief Michael Sarlo told the town board that the town's emergency communications system had reached the end of its useful life and was in need of a major overhaul, "we're slowly but surely getting there," he said on Tuesday.
