A public hearing on a proposed code amendment that would prohibit trucks greater than nine tons from a stretch of Accabonac Road in East Hampton drew three speakers urging its adoption, and one opposing it, as the East Hampton Town Board met in person for the first time in 16 months last Thursday.
A celebration of life for John Jay Sayers Jr., who died on April 12, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on July 18 at the West Sayville Firehouse at 80 Main Street.
A memorial service for Sean Doyle of East Hampton, who died on Jan. 2 of Covid-19, will be held on Friday, July 16, at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in East Hampton. A celebration of his life will follow immediately after at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery on Cedar Street.
It is not so much that one followed in the other's footsteps, but rather that Scot McCachren, pastor at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church, and his daughter, Emily McCachren, pastor at the McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania, have always been on the same spiritual path. And it was a bonus that they overlapped for a year at the same seminary.
