A Springs man was arrested on a drunken-driving charge on Dec. 22 at about 9:15 p.m.

Deep tire tracks were found on the baseball field at Maidstone Park on Saturday. It appeared someone had driven around the field in a circle.

A 72-year-old man was arrested Saturday in his neighbor’s house on a criminal trespassing charge. 

The homeowner, whom police did not name, arrived at her Richardson Avenue house in Springs last Thursday afternoon to find Peter E. Rellstab, who lives a few doors down, coming up from the basement. He was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

A male suspect swiped two 12-ounce bottles of Corona Light from Brent’s General Store on Montauk Highway on Sunday evening.

A 60-year-old Sag Harbor man was arrested on a drunken-driving charge after backing a Jeep onto a Main Street sidewalk in that village in front of a police officer.

A fire at the seven-story Tower, a residential building in the heart of Montauk’s downtown, on Thursday night caused little damage. The Montauk Fire Department was called following a report of smoke in the basement of the building.

A rented U-Haul truck was not returned to Consumer Tires on Railroad Avenue. Police issued a “be-on-the-lookout” alert to local law enforcement. Detectives are investigating.

"The shed that houses that cables for the antennas on the Tower ignited," according to Mickey Valcich, the Montauk Fire Department's first assistant chief.

A 59-year-old man who police said was driving drunk spun his car around and hit a tree on old Stone Highway in Amagansett last Thursday evening.

A decapitated deer was found on land off Georgica Close Road on New Year’s Eve. The property manager called police at about 10 a.m. He was told that if the deer was moved to the road, the village’s Department of Public Works would remove it.

Following a one-car accident in Wainscott last Thursday night, Jake A. Early, 21, of Sag Harbor was arrested on a drunken-driving charge.

Ines G. Quito-Romero, 35, was inside her East Hampton home on Oakview Highway when she reportedly hit her child’s father, with whom she had a custody dispute, in the face with a mop handle on Friday at about 3:20 p.m.

An empty school bus flipped onto its side after a car sideswiped it on Route 114 in East Hampton last week. Both drivers were hospitalized with minor injuries; both vehicles were towed.

East Hampton Town police said two men were driving drunk early Sunday morning.

Police received a noise complaint on David’s Lane on Feb. 5 at about 12:15 p.m. An officer spoke to a contractor at a neighboring house who said he was breaking up concrete. The officer went back to the woman who had complained, and she said she would contact the village because she “did not approve of the changing landscape.”

An 18-year-old East Hampton man fled on foot, police said, after he crashed a car while driving drunk in Amagansett on Saturday night just after midnight.

East Hampton Town police officers were investigating a suspicious knock on a door at a house on Hawthorne Street in Springs on Jan. 20 when they heard the sounds of a car crash.

A woman in labor called police from a Nissan in front of 61 Hampton Street on Jan. 30 around 12:40 p.m. Police helped her into the back seat of her car until the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps arrived. About 10 minutes after the ambulance got her to the hospital, she gave birth, police said.

The rules sign at Indian Wells Beach was damaged by birdshot sometime on Jan. 22. Police said pellets remained in the sign. It will cost about $200 to replace.

Several youths lit fireworks on Brandywine Drive on Feb. 16, according to Mark Lombardo, a neighbor. Extra patrols were requested for Saturday nights.
