Health Care Job Fair to Feature East End Opportunities

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 11:45

Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine has announced that a health care job fair focusing on the East End is planned for Tuesday in Riverhead.

Among the participating East End employers are Stony Brook Medicine and Northwell Health, as well as home health care companies and private practices. The fair will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Riverhead at 1018 Northville Turnpike.

A second job fair, planned for Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1600 Walt Whitman Road in the western Suffolk hamlet of Melville, will present employment opportunities in a wider range of fields, including government jobs. The Suffolk County Department of Labor and the New York State Department of Labor are the co-hosts.

“Suffolk County is committed to helping job seekers at every step of their job search,” Mr. Romaine said in a statement. “We are connecting motivated job seekers to health care and other industries, many of which are in high demand.”

Mr. Romaine is also encouraging job seekers to contact the County Department of Labor should they need help fine-tuning their résumés or obtaining proper business attire for interviews. The department’s website can be found at this link.
