Mon, 12/23/2024 - 10:58

The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation will host a free workshop for nonprofit organizations interested in learning about its grantmaking process on Jan. 14 at the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium in Centerport.

Attendance to the workshop is limited to two participants per organization. According to a release, organizations are eligible to attend if they "have a historic mission and support the study, stewardship, and promotion of education relating to Long Island and New York's role in American history, scholarships, and historic preservation."

A number of local organizations will make presentations at the workshop, including the Preservation League of New York, the New York Landmarks Conservancy's Sacred Sites, the Greater Hudson Heritage Network, East Hampton Library, Long Island University, and the Burying Grounds Preservation Group.

"The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation views this introduction to funding opportunities as an active effort to assist our historic organizations to achieve sustainability," Kathryn M. Curran, the foundation's executive director, said in a statement.

Interested participants have until Jan. 8 to R.S.V.P. to [email protected]. Potential attendees will be informed of their acceptance ahead of the workshop date.
