Update: Trump Protest Planned for Saturday in Southampton

Fri, 08/07/2020 - 14:34

Update: Saturday, 1:30 p.m.: Organizers changed the start time of their rally to 5:30 p.m.

Originally, Friday: As President Trump comes to the South Fork for fund-raisers this weekend and supporters held a parade of boats on Friday, not everyone was in a welcoming mood. A group called East End Together Against Trump has planned a protest for Saturday afternoon.

The location of Saturday’s fund-raiser for the president’s re-election campaign was unclear, but the group will convene from 3 to 5:30 at the corner of Hill Street and First Neck Lane in Southampton.

According to the group’s event page on Facebook, 28 people planned to attend as of Friday afternoon, with another 101 listing themselves as interested in attending.
