The Animal Rescue Fund, a fixture of the East End community since 1974 that has adopted out more than 29,000 cats and dogs since its inception, is calling on people to donate pet food.

ARF will hold a pet food drive on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m., with distribution of the supplies starting on Saturday, Aug. 22, from noon to 3 p.m. Both the drive and collection will take place at ARF’s campus at 124 Daniels Hole Road in East Hampton.

Unopened containers of wet and dry dog and cat food are sought.

For pet owners in need, ARF will provide a safe, socially distanced, drive-through arrangement for both the drop-off on Saturday and the pickup of food on Aug. 22. ARF employees (wearing masks and proper personal protective equipment) will pass out the supplies to families in their cars. More information can be found at arfhamptons.org or by calling 631-537-0400.
