For Heart Health

In partnership with the Suffolk Office of Minority Health and the Witness Project, the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center will host a day focused on heart health on Saturday. Called Well, Well, Well, it is part of the center’s Thinking Forward Lecture Series. From 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., it will include free blood pressure and cholesterol checks, for which registration has been suggested.

Dr. Candace Cummings, an internist in Southampton, will give a talk, “Hypertension Prevention and Heart Healthy Living,” and nutritious refreshments will be served. Registration is by emailing [email protected] or calling 631-537-0616.

Breaking Fast, Looking for Peace

Dozens of Muslim men, women, and children gathered on April 10 at Agawam Park in Southampton Village to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr and break their Ramadan fast together with a multicultural potluck-style celebration. The observance of this Muslim holiday wasn't the only topic on their minds.
