The next Artists and Writers dinner at Almond restaurant will feature Isla Hansen, a multidisciplinary artist based in Springs and Pittsburgh.

Artists and Writers Dinner

The Artists and Writers dinner series will return to Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with Isla Hansen, an artist based on the East End and in Pittsburgh.

Ms. Hansen makes objects, tools, toys, sculpture, interactive installations, animations, videos, and does performances. She is now an artist in residence at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, where her exhibition “How to Get to Make Believe” is on view through March 30. She also teaches sculpture and installation at the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University in that city and is co-director of programming at the Folly Tree Arboretum in Springs.

A three-course family-style meal will be served with one glass of wine or draft beer for $59, including gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant at 631-537-5665.

Specials at Il Buco al Mare

Il Buco al Mare in Amagansett has announced a $36 prix menu that is available all evening on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays.

The first course is mixed chicories with verjus vinaigrette, winter citrus, and hazelnut. On Sundays and Mondays the entree is zuppa di pesce, made with fumet, clam broth, white wine, sautéed shallots, turnips, little necks, fluke, bass, and fresh herbs. Thursday’s entree is a lamb stew with lamb shoulder, pancetta, sofrito, chicken stock, red wine, Kyoto carrots, parsnips, and potatoes. Both entrees are accompanied by the restaurant’s freshly basked stirato, a type of ciabatta.

Wine by the glass specials are on offer, as are $2 Montauk Pearl oysters on the half shell.

More Than Just Bagels

Goldberg’s Food Market has opened at the Water Mill Village retail center at 760 Montauk Highway in that hamlet. Taking over the center’s 4,100-square-foot anchor space, the market is a food hub offering artisanal pizza, an expanded deli section, ice cream, and much more, including, of course, Goldberg’s signature bagels.

The market is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
