Warming Winter Specials
East Hampton's Fresno restaurant has new specials for the new year. A two-course prix fixe menu will be served in the bar and dining room on Sunday through Tuesday for $39 with the option of a daily dessert special for an additional $5. Selections include appetizers like crispy Buffalo cauliflower, salmon tartare, fried calamari, and a green salad with Halsey Farm apples and Manchego cheese. Entrees are a Black Angus burger with the usual sides, roasted chicken, pan-seared Scottish salmon, orecchiette with sausage, and a vegan option with maitake mushrooms, potatoes, carrots and barbecue sauce. A skirt steak with arugula salad and frites is available for a $10 supplement.

But that's not all. There's a date night special on Thursdays with a free half carafe of red or white wine with the purchase of two entrees, and a burger bar special from Sunday to Thursday for $16, with a beef, chicken, or Beyond burger served with fries.

Reservations, which are recommended, are available on Resy or by calling the restaurant at 631-324-8700.

Island Hopping
Nick and Toni's restaurant in East Hampton will have a wine pairing dinner inspired by the islands of Corsica, Sicily, and the Canaries on Jan. 25. A five-course menu has been devised by Courtney Sypher Barylski and Kelsey Rosen, the restaurant's pastry chef. They will be paired with wines selected by Chimene Macnaughton, the beverage director.

The meal will begin with a number of hors d'oeuvres such as mozzarella arancini, savory cheese, cured salmon, and cured meats. A Sicilian pasta course will be served, followed by a Corsican fish stew and a pork shoulder served in the style of the Canary Islands. Dessert is a Sicilian almond milk pudding and cannoli.

The dinner begins at 6:30 and costs $165 per person, not including tax and tip. The wines served will be available to order with event pricing through Domaine Franey in East Hampton that evening. Reservations are available through Resy.

East End Food News
East End Food's year-round farmers market will relocate temporarily from its Riverhead site on Main Road to Twin Fork Beer Co. at 807 Raynor Avenue in Riverhead, while its current home continues to be renovated and expanded to become a new 5,000-square-foot facility. The market will be at the new location beginning this weekend and will be there every Saturday through March 24.

The Southampton nonprofit is continuing to raise money for its $3 million building project and is currently seeking funding for a $120,000 water main extension that will allow the building to receive a certificate of occupancy for the market and an eventual shared commercial kitchen. The group has raised nearly $1.5 million so far. More information and a list of current vendors is available at riverheadmarket.org. Donations can be made at campaign.eastendfood.org.

Almond Dinner
The Almond Artists and Writers dinner series will continue on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with Agathe Snow, an artist and mushroom grower on the North Fork. She is part of a artist collective who grow mushrooms under the name Mattituck Mushrooms, which are available at the East End Food farmer's market. The mushrooms will be used in the meal as well.

Ms. Snow has a long list of international exhibitions to her credit that includes dance parties and dance-a-thons at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

The dinner costs $59 and includes a three-course meal served family-style and a glass of wine or beer. Gratuity is included. Reservations should be made by calling 631-537-5665.
