Bel Mare Ristorante at Maidstone Park in Springs, and Union Sushi and Steak in Southampton are offering $25 three-course prix fixe dinner specials through Sunday as part of the Long Island Restaurant Week promotion. Shippy's Pumpernickels restaurant in Southampton is offering $25 and $35 three-course dinner menus on each of those days, except between 5 and 7 on Saturday.

At Bel Mare, the entrees include chicken piccata, eggplant Parmigiana, and a broccoli rabe and sausage pizza. At Union Sushi and Steak, the entrees include grilled skirt steak with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and a cabernet demi-glaze, and pan-seared striped bass with lobster edamame succotash, and a champagne thyme beurre blanc. The entrees on the $25 menu at Shippy's include crispy roast duck, and wiener schnitzel, and on the $35 one, they include stuffed flounder, lamb chops, and New York sirloin steak.

Looking ahead to Halloween, the Art of Eating in Bridgehampton has Halloween-themed takeout menus available with 36 hours advance notice. Included are such aptly named items as Blood Red soup, Zombie Eyes (Swedish meatballs), Darkest Night black bean dip, Icky Sticky ribs, Devil-Spiced beer-steamed shrimp, and Poison (caramel) apples. Orders can be placed online at hamptonstartofeating.com or by phone.

A Correction
Laura Donnelly's "East End Eats" column in the Oct. 15 issue of The Star "Dining Out All Year, Literally" included two recipes with insufficient attribution. Both recipes, which were correctly credited to South Fork chefs, were taken from "The Ladies' Village Improvement Society Cookbook: Eating and Entertaining in East Hampton" by Florence Fabricant, which was not credited. The Star and the writer regret the omission.
