Landscapes at Halsey McKay
Two exhibitions are on view at the Halsey McKay Gallery in East Hampton through Dec. 31. A show of paintings by Eleanor Conover, Lauren Luloff, and Tessa G. O’Brien, organized by Hilary Schaffner, engages with the traditions and possibilities of landscape painting.
Ms. Conover draws inspiration from the structural elements of rock formations. Ms. Luloff’s paintings on silk are often inspired by her plein-air observations of flowers, plants, trees, and bodies of water. Ms. O’Brien applies wax resist, bleach, and oil to create an atmospheric haze over her surfaces. All three artists live in Maine.
“Confluence,” a solo show of recent work by Alexander Russi, explores historical sites and intimate landscapes, ranging from his backyard garden in Brooklyn to the C&O Canal in Harper’s Ferry, W.Va.
Exhibition Tour
Nina Yankowitz, whose “In the Out/Out the In” is on view at the Parrish Art Museum, will lead a tour of the show on Friday at 6 p.m. The exhibition is a survey of her six-decade career, during which she has expanded the boundaries of painting, sculpture, sound, video, and installation.
Tickets are $30, $24 for senior citizens, $22 for members’ guests, $12 for resident benefits passholders, and free for students and children.

The gallery will also be open Saturday from noon to 5 and Sunday from 10 till noon for final bidding and a coffee reception. Funds raised will go toward installing a new front door and access ramp at Ashawagh Hall.
Christopher Engel at Kramoris
The Romany Kramoris Gallery in Sag Harbor will host a weekend exhibition of artwork by Christopher Engel Friday through Sunday. The show includes both recent paintings and selected earlier works.
The recent paintings continue the artist’s exploration of archetypes and transcendence, using color, movement, and texture, while drawing upon myth, ritual, and collective memory.
