East End Jazz, in collaboration with the Southampton Cultural Center, will launch East Meets West Jazz Jam Sessions, to be held monthly, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the cultural center. The free programs will continue on the first Sunday of every month until the end of the year.

Sunday’s session will feature a 30-minute performance by a quartet led by Peter Watrous, a former New York Times music critic and curator of the music series at the Arts Center at Duck Creek. He will be joined by Jane Hastay on piano, Iris Ornig on bass, and Brian Woodruff on drums. Ms. Ornig, the director of East End Jazz, will host.

All instrumentalists and vocalists can participate, and the programs are open to music lovers as well as performers.
