Abstraction Five Ways in Montauk

Tue, 08/27/2024 - 15:30
Eric Ernst's "Monument in the Desert" is at the Lucore Art Gallery in Montauk.

“5th Dimension,” a group show of abstract works that opens Thursday at the Lucore Art Gallery in Montauk, “will literally take you to the fifth dimension,” according to the gallery.

The exhibition includes works by Anahi DeCanio, Eric Ernst, Stephen Loschen, Haim Mizrahi, and Anne Raymond. While Ms. DeCanio’s work is bold and structural, including some text, Mr. Ernst’s style is graphic and geometric. Mr. Loschen’s work is sharp, angular, and bouncy, while Ms. Raymond’s is calm and peaceful. Thick, swirling paint characterizes Mr. Mizrahi’s canvases.

A reception will be held Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.; the show will run through Sept. 17.

Really, really big.
