If you're watching the Tony Awards on Sunday evening, there might be a familiar face among the nominees. Amanda Green, a part-time resident of East Hampton, lyricist, and composer, is up for best original score along with Jason Robert Brown for "Mr. Saturday Night."

The musical stars Billy Crystal and is based on his movie of the same title. The production received mixed reviews, but was nominated for several Tonys, including best musical, best lead actor, best featured actress, and best book of a musical.

Ms. Green's credits include "Hands on a Hard Body," for lyrics and co-composer. It was nominated for a Tony for best score and two Drama Desk Awards for music and lyrics. She was a co-lyricist for "Bring It On," which she worked on with Lin Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt, and Jeff Whitty. It received a Tony nomination for best musical and a Drama Desk nomination for lyrics. And she was the first woman to win the Dramatists Guild's Frederick Loewe Award for Outstanding Composition.

Ms. Green also writes songs for Phish and the Trey Anastasio Band, and performs on her own at clubs such as Birdland and Joe's Pub in Manhattan.
