LongHouse Reserve's container-design competition, "Planters: On and Off the Ground," will return for its 10th iteration on June 19. As indicated in the title, the contest brings artists, horticulturalists, designers, gardeners, and landscapers together to express their creative takes on breaking free of the clay pot.

Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper, interior designers from the company Ingrao, Inc., will serve as official judges for the event, which also features an added honor in the people's choice award, determined by the guests.

The event and voting begins at 4:30 p.m., with a presentation for the winners at 6. Cocktails and music are part of the festivities. The  displays will remain on view through July 31.

Tickets are $20; $10 for LongHouse members.

Really, really big.
