Duryea’s Picnic Baskets

Duryea’s Lobster Deck in Montauk is offering picnic baskets of prepared foods to go. A basket of breakfast items including two croissants, two muffins, four cookies, a small jar of jam, butter, fruit, two coffees, and fresh juices (either orange or grapefruit) is $85. A lunch basket for two with lobster rolls, green salad, melon, coleslaw, potato chips, cookies, boxed water, and either juice or beer is $135. A basket of appetizers including a cheese plate, burrata, charcuterie, crudites, a baguette, crisp bread or crackers, olives, pickles, nuts, small jars of honey and mustard, boxed water, and either juice, beer, or Wolffer cider is $225. A seafood basket with snow crab cocktail, shrimp cocktail, a two-pound cold steamed lobster, smoked salmon, a baguette, coleslaw, crudités, sauces, boxed water and either juice, beer, or Wolffer cider is $250 for two, and $500 for four. 

The cost of the basket is included with each, and customers can add caviar for $250 and a blanket for $17. Baskets must be ordered one hour in advance either by calling the restaurant or via its website. 

 

The New Cheese Shoppe 

The Village Gourmet Cheese Shoppe in Southampton, which is now owned by Nikki Cascone-Grossman, has a new, minimalist name, Cheese Shoppe, and an expanded menu with homemade soups, acai bowls, and a selection of prepared salads (including truffle chicken and farro with roasted tomatoes, kale, and feta). Ms. Cascone-Grossman, who attended the School of Culinary Arts in Atlanta and was a chef in New York City as well as on the “Top Chef” reality show, said she has also increased the options at the store’s salad station to include toppings such as salmon, shrimp, and pumpkin seeds. As for cheeses, the store offers 32 varieties.

 

Hamptons Chef Event

Tickets are on sale for the Chefs of the Hamptons dinner, which will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on June 29 at the Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton. Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the acclaimed chef, will be in attendance, and the food will be prepared by local chefs such as Joe Realmuto of Nick and Toni’s, Sam McCleland of Beacon, Jeremy Blutstein of Showfish at Gurney’s Star Island Resort and Marina, Courtney Sypher of Sen, Jason Weiner of Almond, Carissa Waechter of Carissa’s Bakery, and Drew Hiatt of Jean-Georges at Topping Rose House. The event is part of Dan’s Taste of Summer food festival. 

Tickets start at $500 per person, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Guild Hall. Florence Fabricant, a food writer for The New York Times, will be guest of honor. Tickets can be purchased at danstasteofsummer.com.

 

Wolffer Dinner

Tickets are on sale for an outdoor dinner prepared by Roman Roth, winemaker and co-owner of Wolffer Estate Vineyard, and Jacques Gautier, the chef at Palo Santo in Brooklyn, at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at the estate’s private residence. Mr. Roth and Mr. Gautier will be at the grill. The cost is $175 per person. Tickets can be purchased on the Sagaponack winery’s website. 

 

Breakfast at the Clam Bar

The Clam Bar at Napeague will serve breakfast daily from 7:30 to 11 starting Monday. The menu will include avocado toast and lobster Benedict.

 

Surf Lodge Special 

The Surf Lodge in Montauk is offering a special dinner menu on Mondays featuring yellowfin tuna poke for $22 and a choice of three tacos — vegetable, fish, meat, or lobster — for $15.
