The eighth annual Hamptons Dog Show will return to the American Legion Hall, at the corner of Montauk Highway and Abraham’s Path in Amagansett, on July 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. The East Hampton Lions Club is hosting the show, a fund-raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation of Long Island and the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.
The public has been invited to participate with their pups, with awards for best in show, unique breed, unique feature, and best trick, and there will be a dog-and-owner look-alike contest.
There will also be food and a cash bar, live music, vendors, a dog agility training course, dog treats and apparel, a photo booth, face painting for children, and, new this year, a dog kissing booth. A live auction will offer an oil portrait of one’s dog, pony rides for six children, a 90-minute dog training session, a 90-minute tennis lesson, a half-day fishing charter, and a one-hour introduction to flight training.
Registration for a dog and handler is $50. For attendees without a dog, admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children 10 and older, which includes a food ticket. Children under 10 will be admitted free. Those planning to attend can register in advance at bit.ly/44vq3Ww. The rain date is July 26.
