A Fall Wedding at Fireplace Farm

Thu, 10/22/2026 - 06:03

Nicolette Atlas Cardamone and William Angier Duke were married at Fireplace Farm on Oct. 10. The groom’s sister, Ellie Duke of Springs, officiated.

Mr. Duke, known as Angie, is the son of Idoline and Biddle Duke of Springs. He grew up spending summers in East Hampton at the Georgica Beach home of his grandparents Bill and Idoline Scheerer. Mr. Duke’s great-uncle Tony Duke founded and ran the camp for underserved New York City kids, Boys Harbor, off Springy Banks Road, and his grandfather, Angier Duke, was the chancellor of Southampton College.

The groom is vice president of investments at Water Asset Management, a New York investment management firm focusing on global water quality, water supply, water-related infrastructure, and farmland.

The bride, known as Nikki, grew up in Aspen and Basalt, Col., and is the daughter of Michele and Jim Cardamone of Basalt. She is a media specialist at the San Francisco outdoor gear and lifestyle company, Yardsale.

The wedding was held on a bluff off Fireplace Road overlooking Gardiner’s Bay “on a perfectly warm, windless fall afternoon,” the family wrote. “The sprawling property of woods, meadows and farmland, with its development rights held by the Peconic Land Trust, is owned and stewarded by family friends, Max and Oliver Ryan. The land is a sacred Montaukett site, and was originally one of the Miller homesteads and the site of signal fires to the residents of Gardiner’s Island when supplies or visitors were ready for transport.”

The groom’s parents were also married there in 1990.

In attendance were dozens of family and friends from Colorado. A large contingent also came from Vermont, where the groom grew up.

The couple live in San Francisco.
