This year’s SpringsFest, a benefit for Heart of Springs, will take place on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Parsons Blacksmith Shop, with performances by three local bands, a craft fair with 15 local vendors, refreshments, yard games, raffles, a blacksmith demonstration, and a history lesson from Hugh King, the town historian.
M Takes the Mic will perform at 4, Real East End Brass at 5, and Mamalee Rose and Paul Gene at 6. Mr. King’s talk will illuminate the lands that surround the “Springs triangle” of Ashawagh Hall, the library, and the Presbyterian church.
Food trucks will serve dinners, light snacks, soft drinks, and desserts, while Springs Brewery and Springs Wine and Liquors will sell alcoholic beverages. Authors will be on hand with their new releases, and vendors will offer baked goods, beach glass items, and other handmade accessories.
While the festival is free, donations will be welcomed to cover the costs of the event and ultimately support Heart of Springs, a nonprofit whose mission is to celebrate the cultural, historical, and spiritual significance of the Springs Historic District and help maintain the buildings that form the triangle.
SpringsFest has been organized by Erin Field, Leland Muller, Kristy Schopper, Wendy Hall, and Dylan Greene.
