Voters will gather next Thursday at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor to vote on the annual budget and elect three library board members.

The library’s proposed 2025 tax levy is $3,362,357. “The cost of our proposed budget increase for a resident with a home valued at $1,000,000 is about $1.50 per month,” a release said.

For the library’s board, two current members are seeking re-election, Diane Deger, who recently retired as a teacher’s assistant at the Sag Harbor Elementary School, and Dan Glass. Anna Francesca Schiavoni, a recent college graduate working in theater, is seeking her first two-year term. All three are running unopposed.

There will also be propositions on the ballot for taxpayer funding of $75,000 each toward the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum and the Eastville Community Historical Society to continue their programs and operations.

According to the Whaling Museum’s website, voter approval would allow for the development of a marine mammal preservation program and the expansion of collaborations with the local schools.

Eastville, in a flier, also looked forward to being able to increase its school programming, both on site and in classrooms, and added that “the $75,000 levy will cost homeowners $5.57 per year for a home valued at $1,000,000.”

Voting will take place from 2 to 8 p.m.
