Greens Set Pace at Montauk Mile

The Green brothers of Shelter Island took first and second place in the Old Montauk Athletic Club’s Montauk Mile on Sunday. Joshua Green, 26, won the race in 4:16.90, edging out his younger brother, Jason, 23, who finished in 4:26.20. Thomas Loeb-Lojko, 19, of New York City, took third place, finishing the mile in 4:44.88.

Among the runners from the East Hampton track team, there was Sean Perez who finished fourth and Jasper Samuelson in fifth.

Bonac boys track was well represented at the race. Sean Perez, a senior, finished fourth in 4:48.10. Jasper Samuelson, a sophomore, finished fifth in 4:51.90. Watts Comly-Bolick, also a sophomore, finished seventh in 5:04.70. Andrew Perez, a junior, finished eighth in 5:23.70. Emmett Schumann, a freshman, finished ninth in 5:28.70. Hudson Goulart, a junior, finished 13th in 5:39.10.

Mullane Baumiller, winner of the women's race

Mullane Baumiller, 20, of Sayville, won the women’s mile in 5:26.20. Renee Keplinger, 41, of Port Ewen, N.Y., came in second with a time of 5:52.90. At just 11 years old, East Hampton’s own Zoey Falkenhan took third with a time of 6:00.60.

The Reich and Jamet families stood out among the Montauk runners, with eight entrants in the race. Bobby Reich, 41, finished 11th in the men’s race in 5:35.40. His 8-year-old daughter, Reagan Reich, finished 17th in the women’s race, in 7:53.70. Bobby Reich’s niece, Lucie Jamet, 6, and his sister, Jenn Jamet, 35, took 24th and 25th place, finishing in 10:03 and 10:03.60, respectively. His youngest daughter, Cassidy Reich, 6, finished 26th, in 10:37.80. Amy Reich, his wife, 41, was right behind her, finishing 27th in 10:41.80. Lori Reich, the matriarch of the family, 70, and grandson Henry Jamet, 4, came in 33rd, in 14:08.20.
