Photos: Old Kids on the Block Raise Money for Sag Cinema

Colin Ambrose was the pit master for much of the evening, grilling up all manner of meat products for a hungry crowd.

Sunday's Turnpike Block Party at Estia's Little Kitchen in Sag Harbor featured a variety of flame-broiled meats and late-summer produce. The event capped another well-attended Harborfest weekend in the village.

The dense and happy crowd raised money for the Sag Harbor Partnership and the purchase and restoration of the Sag Harbor Cinema. The partnership's aim is to buy the site where the old theater burned down last winter and restore it to a community center capable of screening films and also hosting live events and community gatherings.

In addition to food provided and prepared by Estia's owner, Colin Ambrose, Jason Weiner, and other local chefs, the evening featured music by Inda Eaton, Gene Casey, and the Spaghetti Westerners. The Sag Harbor Express served as presenting sponsor and worked hard to ensure the event's success.
